The health problems afflicting members of the British royal family seem to have reached the Spanish royal family, at least that is what some media are reporting about the health problems of the Infanta Elena.
The sister of King Felipe has suffered two health setbacks that have landed her in hospital in recent weeks.
Infanta Elena’s health problems
The 60-year-old eldest daughter of the King and Queen Emeritus injured her foot while practicing horseback riding, her great passion, and had to undergo cataract surgery on one of her eyes.
According to Spanish media, the Infanta Elena sprained her foot when she clumsily dismounted from her horse.
“When I dismounted from the horse, I caught my foot and sprained it, but now I can support it,” explained Elena herself, who had to wear an orthopedic boot to facilitate her recovery.
Shortly afterwards, the sister of King Felipe VI underwent surgery to correct the cataracts that were affecting her vision.
Infanta Elena reported that everything went well and that she was in good condition.
Despite these health problems, the Infanta Elena has not stopped fulfilling her commitments.
A few days ago, she participated in an event with the orthopedic boot. She is almost as unstoppable as King Felipe, who for months attended his royal engagements with a brace on one hand after a fall while playing paddle tennis.
