After several months of separation, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia were reunited, marking a happy reunion since their last interaction at Christmas.
The relationship between the Borbón Ortiz sisters is famously strong, a bond strengthened by the education they received from the King Felipe and Queen Letizia, who instilled in them the need to support each other.
This fraternal bond is evident in every official act they participate in together, where smiles, affectionate gestures and confidences are a constant, reflecting an undeniable chemistry.
The physical distance, which was a considerable challenge due to their individual educational commitments, has been overcome with this reunion.
Princess Leonor has been immersed in her military training at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza.
Meanwhile, Infanta Sofía has focused on her academic studies at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
Despite the more than 1,500 kilometers that separate them, both have maintained their focus on education, finding time to meet when their respective schedules allow.
Infanta Sofia and Princess Leonor Reunite
The Infanta Sofia has begun her Easter vacation, marking the beginning of her return to Spain.
The young lady flew from London’s Heathrow Airport, a landmark for UWC Atlantic students.
Her arrival in Madrid promises to be the beginning of a quality family time.
Meanwhile, Princess Leonor will enjoy a shorter period of rest that began on March 27, one day before her sister’s vacation begins.
This time together is an opportunity for the sisters to share experiences and further strengthen their sisterly relationship.
The future monarch has recently completed rigorous military training, focusing on maneuvers and tactical exercises.
Despite the rigorous training, a few days ago she had the pleasure of receiving a visit from her father, King Felipe, with whom she shared a lunch in the company of her classmates from the Military Academy.
The Princess of Asturias also enjoyed the company of her parents for a special evening on Tuesday.
They dined together at a restaurant in the Spanish region of La Almunia de Doña Godina, a charming town not far from Zaragoza.
The chosen establishment was the hotel restaurant El Patio, which expressed its gratitude for the royal visit on social media, saying:
“Yesterday we had the honor of receiving a very special visit. It was a privilege to serve them and we are grateful that they chose us,” along with a picture of the three members of the royal family with the hotel staff.
After dinner, the Princess returned to Madrid with her parents, but will return to Zaragoza on April 4, as her military training will resume the following day.
During this break, the sisters will enjoy six days together.
The Spanish Royal Family at Easter
The King and Queen are expected to make at least one family outing with their daughters during the week.
It is rumored that next Saturday the royal family will attend a public event to commemorate Holy Week.
Last year they visited the village of Chinchón in Madrid.
In 2022, they also took the opportunity to visit a Ukrainian refugee center in Pozuelo de Alarcon.
Details of the event planned for 2024 have not yet been revealed, but it is sure to be as special as the previous ones.
