Details are beginning to emerge about one of Princess Leonor’s most important events, scheduled for this October.
The future Queen of Spain will have to officially commit herself to the swearing in of the flag at General Military Academy of Zaragoza, where the Princess of Asturias receives her military training.
Everything is almost ready for this great event and many are wondering if the Infanta Sofia will be invited, well, although the royal house has not officially revealed if Leonor’s sister will be there or not, they have given some clues that reveal it.
Infanta Sofia at Leonor’s flag swearing-in ceremony
The website of the Royal Household announces that on October 7, 2023, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will preside over the flag swearing-in ceremony of Princess Leonor.
But one detail that does not go unnoticed is that the name of the Infanta Sofia does not appear.
In the description of the event, it is revealed that the King and Queen will be present and it is recalled that Felipe VI took the same oath in 1985.
The name of the Infanta Sofia appear as an assistant. So, barring any last-minute surprises, Sofia will not travel from Wales to Zaragoza to be at her sister Princess Leonor’s side on this important date.
The youngest daughter of the King and Queen is a student at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales, and it will not be until the end of October that the young girl will have a few days of vacation, during which everything suggests that she will travel to Spain.
On October 27, the Infanta Sofía will begin her vacation at the UWC Atlantic College, where she will return on November 5.
A date that will coincide with October 31, the day on which Princess Leonor will turn 18 and take the oath of the Constitution. All indications are that her sister will be with her on that day, a historic moment for the young girl.
What is not known is whether the Infanta Sofia will attend the Princess of Asturias Awards, which will be held on October 20 in Oviedo, and so far everything seems to indicate that she will not be there.
