The mystery of whether or not the Infanta Sofia would attend the Princess of Asturias Awards has finally been solved in a surprising way.
This Thursday, October 12, the Spanish royal family celebrated Columbus Day in a spectacular way, and this year the main protagonist was Princess Leonor, who resumed her place on this special day after three years of absence, two of them due to her academic commitments at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
The same commitments meant that the Infanta Sofia could not accompany her sister on this important day.
Infanta Sofia at the Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony
Speaking of the Infanta Sofia, we were able to learn firsthand whether or not she would be attending the next Princess of Asturias Awards, scheduled for October 20th.
It was Queen Letizia herself who confirmed that the Infanta Sofia would attend the next Asturias Awards, despite the fact that she is not yet enjoying her fall vacation at the prestigious British school.
The Queen announced the news during the reception at the Palace after the Columbus Day parade, where Leonor was once again the subject of comments on social media for the sparkle in her eyes as she greeted a handsome fellow student from the Military Academy who had been invited to the event.
The return of the Infanta Sofía will be a moment that will fill the family with happiness, but especially the heiress, who confirmed during the reception that she had missed her very much.
