This week, the Infanta Sofia made her debut as a hostess at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

The Infanta Sofia traveled to Wales on August 29, just before the start of classes, and now the reason for this decision has been revealed.

The daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia has distinguished herself as an exceptional host at UWC Atlantic College, the institution where she will spend her last year of school.

Sofia, along with other students, has taken the initiative to guide the new arrivals, showing them around the facilities, accompanying them to the dining halls, and informing them of the school’s rules.

In this role, Princess Leonor’s sister has been instrumental in welcoming the new students, offering the same warm welcome as last year.

This act of engagement not only reflects her leadership qualities but also demonstrates her ability to connect with young people of different cultures and beliefs, which is an essential tenet of UWC Atlantic College.

With this significant participation, Sofia officially begins her last academic year at the College. She will have to take a total of six subjects.

Among the compulsory subjects are the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Activity, and Service. In addition, she will be able to choose from several electives such as Language and Literature Studies, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Science, Mathematics, and the Arts.

Students at the Wales boarding school will also have the opportunity to experience living with nature, facing endurance challenges, and acquiring basic survival skills.

The center supports student welfare through a “Pastoral Care” service, where a group of students is available to offer support to those in need, and allows any student to come forward to discuss personal problems.
