Last week, Forward College, the Lisbon university where Infanta Sofia studies, welcomed an important visitor.
Teresa Anjinho, the European Ombudsman, visited the campus last week to give a talk to students studying International Law, including the youngest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia.
The university itself confirmed this on its Instagram page, explaining that Anjinho introduced her role at the helm of the European institution, which focuses on ensuring that EU institutions act fairly and transparently.
Rather than a typical lecture, the session led to an open discussion with the students.

According to the university, the session covered topics ranging from an analysis of the dynamics between EU institutions to Anjinho’s personal career path, and she also shared advice on how to succeed in that environment.
The university noted that the students showed great interest and that the questions they asked were insightful.
For someone studying international law, having direct access to the person holding that position is no small thing. This is exactly the kind of training that makes the difference between studying a subject and understanding how it works in practice.

Why Sofia doesn’t appear in any of the photos posted by her university
The university shared photos of the talk, but Infanta Sofia does not appear in any of them. This is not an oversight. The Royal Household has a strict policy to protect the Infanta’s image during her studies abroad, and Forward College respects that policy.

While the college does post photos of daily life on campus, it prevents any images of Sofia from reaching the media through this channel.
When will Infanta Sofia return to Spain?
Infanta Sofia’s spring break is just around the corner. Her break starts on April 3 and runs until the 12th, so she will be back at the Zarzuela Palace soon. There, she will be reunited with her parents and with Leonor, who will also have a few days off.

The two sisters will be at home together, which doesn’t happen very often now that each of them is pursuing their own education in different cities. They’ll have a few days to catch up, which they’ve been missing for a while.
