Infanta Sofía, the younger daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, has recently completed her first year of the International Baccalaureate program at UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

The UWC Atlantic College is known for its demanding academic curriculum, and Sofía’s first year was no exception.

Sofia tackled a range of subjects including languages, mathematics, history, and biology. Each subject required not only extensive study but also the completion of various projects and final papers.

According to sources close to the school, “With these exams, Sofía concludes her first year in Wales.” These tests were a significant milestone, marking the end of an intensive academic journey.

One of the highlights of her academic year was a trip to Oxford with her classmates.

This excursion wasn’t merely for leisure; it was an educational visit aimed at gathering insights for their final projects.

The students explored several museums in Oxford, drawing inspiration for their academic essays.

Sofía’s project focused on sociology, a topic that intrigued her deeply. “She will need to write an academic essay on sociology in the world,” reported the sources consulted.

Project Week: A Blend of Adventure and Creativity

In addition to the rigorous academics, the students at UWC Atlantic College participate in a “Project Week.” This week is designed to develop various skills outside the traditional classroom setting.

Sofía and her peers engaged in activities like hiking and surfing. These adventures were not just for fun but were meant to build practical skills and foster teamwork.

“They carried out activities such as hiking or surfing to develop skills in the water,” explained sources familiar with the college’s program.

The week also included creative and artistic endeavors, providing a well-rounded experience that encouraged students to exercise leadership and initiative.

“This week is very important and a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate initiative and leadership in projects,” concluded sources from the UWC Atlantic College environment.
