This Sunday, July 14, is the great final of the European Championship, where England and Spain face each other in a decisive match.
The Spanish national team has the opportunity to achieve its fourth victory and enter once again in the history of Spanish soccer.
In Germany, the stadium will be filled with thousands of English and Spanish fans to support their respective teams in this important match.
Infanta Sofia and King Felipe at the Euro Cup Final
King Felipe VI, a great soccer fan, had already confirmed his presence to cheer on the Spanish team from the box.
After participating in the Princess of Girona Awards along with Queen Letizia and her daughters, the monarch made a gap in his schedule to be present at this final.
But he will not be alone, his youngest daughter, Infanta Sofia, will accompany him to Berlin.
Queen Letizia, who will not be able to attend, left in the hands of Felipe and Sofia the representation of the royal family in the German capital.
The Infanta Sofia, 17, is not only a great follower of the Spanish national team, but has also been playing soccer since she was very young.
This is not the first time that King Felipe has taken Sofia to an important match. Father and daughter share a great passion for soccer, and have attended numerous matches together.
The first time the infanta attended a match was in 2016, when she was just nine years old.
She witnessed Real Madrid’s victory over Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In May 2023, Felipe and Sofia were present at the final of the Copa del Rey in Seville, just after the King attended the Coronation of Charles III in the United Kingdom.
This shared passion for soccer is evident in each of their appearances.
Sofia also accompanied her sister, Princess Leonor, in 2022 to cheer on the Women’s National Team in the quarterfinals of the European Championship at London’s Brentford Community Stadium.
It was her first international trip without the company of her parents.
In August 2023, Sofia and Queen Letizia traveled to Australia to witness the final of the Spanish women’s team, where they watched the players win their first World Cup at Sydney’s Accord Stadium.
The Infanta Sofia has proven to be passionate about soccer, not only as a spectator, but also as a player. She participated in a Madrid team as a midfielder.
According to the Spanish portal ‘Monarquía Confidencial’, Sofia tried out for the team C.D. DUX Internacional de Madrid Soccer Academy, registered with the Real Federación de Fútbol de Madrid.
This Sunday, Infanta Sofia and King Felipe will be together in Berlin, sharing their love for soccer and supporting the Spanish national team in one of the most important finals in recent history.
