In 2023 the Infanta Sofia of Spain will begin her studies in high school and will do so following in the footsteps of her sister Princess Leonor.
Sofia, 15 years old, is currently in the fourth year of ESO at the Santa Maria de los Rosales school in Madrid and in September she will begin a new stage in her academic preparation.
Where will the Infanta Sofia study?
The youngest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia will follow in the footsteps of her sister, Princess Leonor, and will study Baccalaureate at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales, the same institute where the future Queen of Spain is currently studying her final year.
The Royal House of the Borbones was in charge of announcing and confirming that the infanta has managed to fulfill the entire selection process to study at the same boarding school as her older sister.
“Their Majesties the King and Queen announce that Her Royal Highness the Infanta Sofia, like the Princess of Asturias, will study the International Baccalaureate curriculum of the United World Colleges educational institution at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, United Kingdom. The Infanta Sofia has also successfully undergone the entire selection process required by the Spanish Committee of the United World Colleges Foundation (UWC Spain),” says the statement from the Royal Family.
The decision of the royal family will keep the Infanta Sofia away from the eye of the press. The Princess of Asturias will return to her country in May after finishing her studies and in August it will be Sofia who will head to the United Kingdom.
Infanta Sofía and soccer
A few days ago it was known that the Infanta Sofia wanted to join a soccer club, a sport she plays at her current school and where she has even been a victim of bullying. However, with the decision to study in Wales everything indicates that these plans will remain in the air.
