Christmas is approaching and with it comes the vacations for the Infanta Sofia, who will return to Spain on December 8.
After several months studying in Wales, the youngest member of the Royal Family will be able to reunite with her parents, the King and Queen, and her sister Leonor to enjoy more than three weeks at home.
We tell you all the details of the teenager’s return home and what her plans will be like in Madrid during the holidays.
Infanta Sofia returns to Spain
Sofia has been studying since late August at Atlantic College in Wales, following in the footsteps of Leonor.
There she is studying the International Baccalaureate in an impressive castle by the sea.
The youngest daughter of the King and Queen has only been able to visit Spain on a few occasions since she left, taking advantage of some holidays and school bridges.
This December 8, after finishing classes, she will take a bus with the rest of the students to Heathrow Airport in London.
As always, she will be accompanied by the security agents who watch over her.
Once she lands in Madrid, her parents and probably Leonor -if she gets leave days at the Military Academy- will welcome her happily at home.
Sofia will remain in Spain until January 3, when she must return to school in Wales.
This will be more than three weeks in which she will be able to resume her routines at home and participate in the traditional Christmas events with her family.
Possibly the King and Queen will take advantage of her return to take the traditional Christmas photograph that they send every year to the Spanish press.
The teenager will only miss the Epiphany holiday in Spain, when her parents will preside over the Military Easter, probably with Leonor as a novelty this year.
After that, the heiress will return to Zaragoza and the Infanta will go back to Atlantic College, and will not return to Spain until Easter.
It will be an intimate Christmas with the family for the youngest royal daughter, who will be able to disconnect from her Welsh studies.
