On May 22nd, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.
To mark this special occasion, the Spanish Royal Family has started the celebrations by releasing a series of photographs.
These photos feature the King and Queen along with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
Eleven photographs were taken outdoors in the Sabatini Gardens, in front of the north facade of the Royal Palace of Madrid.
The exact date of the photoshoot is unknown, but it is known that the photos were taken during one of Infanta Sofia’s trips to Madrid. She is currently studying for her high school diploma at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, United Kingdom.
The photos capture various moments with King Felipe and Queen Letizia, both with and without their daughters, and highlight many interesting details like their non-verbal communication and their chosen outfits.
Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia all chose similar outfits for the occasion.
Each wore a blazer and pants, perfect for the spring season.
Infanta Sofia’s Style for Royal Anniversary Photos
Infanta Sofia, the youngest in the family, paired basic wardrobe items with popular pieces from Spanish brands.
Sofia look included a tweed jacket, jeans, and ballet flats.
The tweed jacket is from Mango, part of the current collection of the Catalan brand. It is mostly sold out in many sizes and costs US$70.
The jacket is made from a rustic fabric that looks like off-white tweed. It has black frayed details on the neckline, hem, and pockets.
The jacket features a round neck, shoulder pads, long sleeves, two faux flap pockets on the chest, and a cropped hem without any closure.
Although this is the first time Infanta Sofia has worn the jacket, it is expected to become a staple in her wardrobe because it is timeless, versatile, and stylish.
This tweed jacket connects Sofia’s outfit with her mother’s.
Queen Letizia also wore a Mango blazer made from rustic fabric, but hers was bright pink, creating a link between mother and daughter for this occasion.
Infanta Sofia completed her look with simple items.
She wore a basic black T-shirt under the jacket and high-waisted blue jeans with a classic wash, featuring a five-pocket design, straight legs, and a slightly flared hem. She added a thin black leather belt with a gold buckle.
Infanta Sofia wore black pointed ballet flats from Martinelli.
These shoes, the Vivien model, cost US$120. She first wore them during the Princess of Asturias Awards concert in October 2021 and has worn them several times since.
