The Princess of Girona Awards are one of the most outstanding events for the Royal House, not only because of their social and institutional importance, but also because they allow us to see Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia taking increasingly visible roles.
On this occasion, the young women visited the workshop of sculptor Jaume Plensa in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Barcelona, on Tuesday, July 9.
During the afternoon, both sisters were able to learn about the creative and working process of the renowned artist, demonstrating once again the complicity that exists between them.
This activity is part of the set of events prior to the awards, where the Infanta Sofia once again stood out for her unique style.
For the event, Sofia chose a look faithful to the usual features of her closet. Taking advantage of the high temperatures of almost 30º in Barcelona, she opted for a boho outfit that she could have easily worn during her vacations in Mallorca.
Infanta Sofía’s Summer Style in Barcelona
The Infanta Sofia, like her sister Leonor, chose an outfit in light tones. She wore a flowing blouse with French sleeves, a V-neckline and English-style embroidered details.
She combined it with wide pants, also adorned with similar embroidery. Both pieces belong to the French firm Ba&sh and are made of organic cotton.
The blouse, model Malta, is inspired by Tunisian designs and is available on sale for 180 dollars at the exchange rate.
The pants, model Marlon, share the same design and can be purchased for 200 dollars at the exchange rate. To complete the look, Princess Sofia wore the same espadrilles as Princess Leonor, maintaining a coordinated look.
During the visit, both Leonor and Sofia were natural and approachable as they interacted with the artist and the other guests.
This activity is similar to the one they did in 2022 to the Dalí Museum in Figueras and the one they did last year to Ferran Adrià’s ellBulliFoundation, where they also explored artistic and social projects in Catalonia.
After the visit to Jaume Plensa’s atelier, Leonor and Sofia headed to the Meliá Lloret hotel in Lloret de Mar, Girona, to meet with the King and Queen and former recipients of the Princess of Girona Awards.
The evening commemorated the 15th anniversary of the Foundation and both sisters were expected to maintain the same elegant styling befitting the occasion.
