Infanta Sofia is preparing to return to Spain in just a few days. The youngest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will enjoy her first vacation since she began her second academic year at UWC Atlantic College, located in Wales.
During this brief period of rest, the Infanta will have the opportunity to reunite with her loved ones, reconnect with friends, and celebrate the birthday of her sister, Princess Leonor.
But her time in Spain will not only be marked by family and friendly activities, as she will also attend one of the most relevant appointments on the agenda of the Royal Family.
Infanta Sofia’s Return to Spain
Classes at UWC Atlantic College end at noon on October 25, according to the academic calendar of the center, where students must leave the facilities by 14:00.
However, in the case of Infanta Sofia, there could be changes in this schedule. That same October 25 will be the Princess of Asturias Foundation Awards Ceremony, an event that the Infanta has attended in all previous editions.
If Sofia adheres to the usual school schedule, it would be complicated for her to manage to fly from the UK and arrive in time for the event.
For this reason, it is anticipated that she will follow the same procedure as last year, when she finished her classes ahead of schedule in order to be able to participate in the events related to the awards ceremony.
Although Princess Leonor has already come of age, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be present at the ceremony, as will Infanta Sofia.
However, it is possible that some adjustments may be planned to give the heiress more prominence on this occasion, as she will soon turn 19.
As for her return to Wales, Infanta Sofia will enjoy her vacation until early November, specifically until the 3rd. After this break, she will resume her studies just after the celebration of her sister’s birthday, continuing her education until the next scheduled break for the Christmas holidays.
