The Infanta Sofia is making the most of her stay in Wales, where she is currently in her second year at UWC Atlantic College.
The youngest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia has found an enriching environment, not only academically but also socially, forming great friendships that have been highlighted by the Spanish press, which closely follows her activities.
Although her main focus must be on studying to ensure her academic success, Infanta Sofia also finds room for fun.
One of the most popular activities among students at the school is the themed party known as ‘Sosh’.
What are Infanta Sofia’s “Sosh” parties?
Sosh parties, according to media reports in Spain, are themed events that take place every Friday on the grounds of St. Donat’s Castle, between 19:00 and 22:00 hours.
These festivities offer the Infanta and her classmates the opportunity to enjoy different themes each week, ranging from Halloween-inspired celebrations to vibrant ‘Rainbow parties’, where students dress up in colors imitating the rainbow.
The interesting thing about these parties is that the students themselves come up with the ideas for the different themes, which encourages creativity and a sense of community.
In addition, participation in these parties is completely optional; each student is free to decide whether to attend or prefer to spend Friday in a more relaxed environment, either in their room, with classmates, or spending time studying.
During the weekends, Infanta Sofia can also enjoy various recreational activities offered by the center, including target shooting, women’s soccer matches, and trips to the stores in Llantwit Major, a village in the Vale of Glamorgan.
In fact, soccer has become one of her favorite activities, revealing a hidden talent that has been confirmed by some of her school friends.
Infanta Sofia is not only focused on her education but is also enjoying a well-rounded student experience that combines learning with moments of recreation and fun.
Her life in Wales seems to be a healthy balance between study and socializing, thus contributing to her personal and academic development.
