As the sister of Princess Leonor, she is expected to spend the next two years at the College, where she will have the opportunity to immerse herself in an international and enriching educational environment.
Infanta Sofia’s welcome at UWC Atlantic College
UWC Atlantic College strives to provide a unique and high quality educational experience for its students.
The arrival of the Infanta Sofia is a sign of the global appeal of this institution, which attracts talented young people from different parts of the world.
To welcome them, the school staff followed a fun tradition. Minutes after moving into their rooms, new students like Sofia received the “crazy” welcome with clanging pots and face painting.
“This week we welcomed our first and second year students to campus. We are so proud of these young people who have embraced the UWC Atlantic community spirit,” read the boarding school’s Instagram post, where dozens of young people can be seen carrying banners and wearing face paint.
Not even the rain that fell in Wales could dampen this special day for Sofia, who posed smiling near the medieval castle that will be her home for the next two years.
During her stay at the school, Infanta Sofia will have the opportunity to interact with students of different nationalities and cultures, which will allow her to develop intercultural skills and a global perspective.
The school community hopes that her time at the school will be an enriching and transformative experience.
