Irene Urdangarin is living one of the most memorable summers of her life.
After spending five months in Cambodia volunteering with Kike Figaredo’s NGO, the daughter of Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin returned to Madrid in mid-May.
Irene is determined to make the most of the last months of her gap year, which she began after finishing high school in Geneva in June 2023, before starting university.
Irene Urdangarin’s Summer
Everything indicates that in September she will begin her university studies in the United Kingdom, following in the footsteps of her brothers Juan and Miguel Urdangarin.
Although there is still no official confirmation, it seems that Irene will opt for a career related to tourism, hospitality, marketing and public relations.
During this time in Madrid, Irene has found the perfect balance between her social life and her obligations.
She maintains a close relationship with Juan Urquijo, the grandson of Teresa de Borbón y Borbón, while attending her driving lessons.
Having passed her theory test in December, just before her trip to Cambodia, Irene has resumed practical classes at a well-known driving school in downtown Madrid.
There she has been seen being very friendly and joking with her driving instructor.
Her goal is to get her driver’s license and be able to drive her own car this summer.
She is likely to do some getaway driving with Juan Urquijo, enjoying their relationship before moving to the UK.
Since they met in August last year at a party hosted by Victoria Federica, their relationship has cemented.
Although they prefer to keep their romance away from the media attention, it is increasingly common to see them enjoying activities together in Madrid.
