The recently published book “Endgame” by Omid Scobie, addresses sensitive issues related to the British royal family.
The book has caused controversy because of what it does not say in its English version, but it does appear in the edition withdrawn from bookstores in the Netherlands.
Is Kate Middleton a racist?
The bombshell went off when the Dutch translation revealed the names of two people Meghan Markle allegedly accused of making racist comments about the skin tone of her son, Prince Archie.
However, the book’s publisher issued a statement explaining that it was a “translation error” and that the rectified version would soon be in bookstores, but the damage had already been done.
Scobie also attributed the error to a mistranslation, but the scandal had already begun to gain attention in Britain.
Who are the royals named in book?
Controversial journalist Piers Morgan claimed on television that the two royals mentioned by Meghan Markle in the Dutch version are King Charles and Kate, Princess of Wales.
Different British media, such as The Sun, have labeled the controversy as “Meghan’s revenge”, while others have shown caution in publishing the names of the royals mentioned.
Omid Scobie, known as Meghan’s unofficial spokesman, has denied receiving direct information from the couple, but has claimed to have obtained facts from people close to them.
Be that as it may, the allegations have put Charles III and Kate Middleton in the spotlight. An uncomfortable situation from which Buckingham Palace will have to come out forcefully.
The truth is that the media storm has already tarnished the image of the future queen consort, known precisely for her charisma and closeness to ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom.
