Jaime del Burgo, a 53-year-old Spanish businessman, made headlines in the Spanish media after he revealed on his X profile (formerly Twitter) a possible love affair with Queen Letizia.
The man, who was married to Telma Ortiz, Queen Letizia’s sister, even went so far as to post a photograph of the pregnant consort with a message with high amorous content that she had supposedly sent him.
Although everything was removed from his profile, it is suspected that del Burgo had intentions behind his statements.

Before making the revelations, the businessman had given an interview for the book “Letizia y yo” by writer Jaime Peñafiel in which he tells how he met the consort and how they came to have an alleged romantic relationship.
He also says that he wanted to formalize his relationship with the former journalist and that he had even bought her an engagement ring.
However, she confessed to him at a dinner party that she had met someone else and had fallen in love. It was Prince Felipe of Asturias.
The controversial text also reveals that the two were romantically involved when Letizia was already in a relationship with her current husband.
A possible explanation for why del Burgo is now trying to discredit Letizia is that alleged extramarital relationship, according to the Spanish portal “Noticias de Navarra”.
“The book points out that both maintained a sentimental relationship when Letizia was already with the prince. Therefore, this could be one of the reasons why del Burgo would try to discredit Letizia with his latest publication in social networks,” publishes the Spanish media.
The same media adds that it is not the first time that the businessman threatens to reveal hidden data and secrets of the Spanish royal family. However, it is now when he generates more controversy.
