Recently, La Zarzuela Palace has welcomed a new resident: Juan Urdangarin.

The eldest son of the Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin has decided to return to Spain, settling in the residence of his maternal grandparents, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, after living a love disappointment in London.

The young man has opted to change the gray skies of London for the warm refuge of Madrid, in search of a new beginning.

In the British capital, Juan worked as a production assistant in an off-road racing company, a job that kept him busy and away from the media spotlight.

However, heartbreak has led him to take the decision to take a break and enjoy a sabbatical year.

Now, his new abode will be La Zarzuela Palace, where his grandmother Sofia is happy to have him close by.

This welcoming gesture comes as no surprise, as the Queen has always shown a special affection for her grandchildren, enjoying their company.

With his arrival at Zarzuela, Juan will have the opportunity to be close to his grandmother while occupying one of the many rooms in the palace.

This change of scenery seems to be just what he needed after the difficult personal moment he has been going through.

Juan Urdangarin, a graduate in International Relations and Economics from the University of Essex, began his professional career in 2019 when he landed a position at Extreme E, the company founded by Alejandro Agag.

However, for the next academic year he has no plans to look for a new job. Instead, Juan wants to take the time to put the painful sentimental episode he experienced in London behind him.

Since he was a child, Juan has been a particularly sensitive young man, a characteristic that was accentuated during his adolescence, when the corruption scandal of his father, Iñaki Urdangarin, broke out and he was immersed in an atmosphere of pressure, mockery and attacks at school.

That difficult situation led him to withdraw and opt for a more discreet life, away from the spotlight.
