Her attendance was unconfirmed but the Duchess surprised everyone by making a surprise appearance to accompany her husband, Prince William, to Westminster Abbey to commemorate Anzac Day.
The date is to commemorate and honor Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces soldiers who “served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations,” a statement from Kensington Palace said.
Kate Middleton Anzac Day Outfit
In addition to her surprise appearance, the clothes Kate wore for the event were also a touch of awe as the Duchess of Cambridge opted to recycle a dress she debuted in 2015 for her daughter Princess Charlotte‘s christening almost seven years ago.
It was the ivory white Alexander McQueen dress. She added some modern touches to the outfit, with a tweed halo headband by London milliner Jane Taylor, plus she wore black suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi. Accessories included Princess Diana pearl dangle earrings and a black suede Jenny Packham clutch bag.
Both Kate and Prince William wore red poppy brooches, a symbol of sacrifice and remembrance, on their lapels.
