The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William lived an awkward moment during one of their official engagements.
The couple visited the Hayes Muslim Center, which is raising funds to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. As a sign of respect to her Muslim hosts, Kate has covered her hair with a black and white veil, reminiscent of her visit to Pakistan in October 2019.
Kate has combined the veil with a pleated black Alexander McQueen dress, which she debuted in September during one of the events in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. On top she wore a long black coat by Catherine Walker, one of Princess Diana’s favorite designers.
As accessories, the princess chose a leather bag by Grace Han, valued at 2,200 euros, and suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi.

Although the Princess of Wales adapted to Muslim customs, that was not enough for her to live an awkward moment.
When going to greet those present, the Princess of Wales has reached out her hand to a man after he greeted Prince William, but he has withdrawn it, taking it to his heart. A gesture that has surprised Kate, who has tried to look natural and not to give it importance, since it is something cultural, as some Muslim men do not want to have contact with women.
She is not the only royal to go through a similar situation. In January, Queen Letizia of Spain was left with her hand outstretched during a reception for the diplomatic corps accredited to that country.
Iran’s ambassador Hassan Ghashghavi entered the place and shook King Felipe’s hand, but when it was Queen Letizia’s turn he simply stepped aside. He brought his hand to his chest and then went on his way.
In 2019 during the Climate Summit, a representative of that nation also avoided touching the queen Letizia. According to the rules of that country, since 1979 contact between men and women is forbidden if they do not belong to the same nuclear family or are married.
