The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has scheduled not one, but two highly anticipated public appearances.
These will be the first official events that Kate, 42, will attend since she announced on September 9th that she had completed her cancer treatment.
Her last public appearance with the royal family was during King Charles’ Trooping the Colour, which also marked her first outing since December 2023.
In early January, Kensington Palace reported that the princess had undergone abdominal surgery, although they did not offer many details. In March, after months of speculation about her absence, Kate publicly revealed that she had cancer.
Her return to public life was in June, at the event commemorating the King’s birthday; afterwards, she was also seen at Wimbledon, enjoying the tournament with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Middleton.
Subsequently, Kate again “disappeared” from the media and was only seen in a video where she celebrated the performance of athletes at the Paris Olympics, accompanied by her husband, Prince William.
In September, in an emotional video, Kate announced that she had finished her cancer treatment and that her priority was to fully recover from the disease. She also shared that she was eager to resume her responsibilities as a member of the monarchy.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” Princess Kate said in part. “I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
After that, Kate had the opportunity to fulfill the dream of a young photographer also diagnosed with cancer. Weeks later, she made her first public appearance with William since Christmas Day 2023.
With her schedule slowly getting back to normal, the princess is preparing to attend an event she has never missed since joining the British royal family.
Kate Middleton at Remembrance Day
According to reports from Buckingham Palace, on Saturday, November 9th, the Princess of Wales will join her husband, Prince William, and other members of the royal family at the Festival of Remembrance, which will be held at the Royal Albert Hall.
The following day, she will take part in the traditional ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial in London, where tribute will be paid to those who lost their lives in war conflicts, on the occasion of Remembrance Sunday, November 10th.
Buckingham Palace confirmed on November 8th that King Charles, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, princess Anne with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as the Duke of Kent, will be present at the Festival of Remembrance and Remembrance Sunday.
For her part, Queen Camilla’s attendance at these events has not been confirmed, as she continues to recover from an infection that forced her to suspend some of her royal duties.
