During the winter vacations, the Prince and Princess of Wales took the opportunity to unwind on the paradisiacal island of Mustique with their three children, as we reported here on RoyalFamily.News.
This Caribbean destination has been, for years, an ideal retreat for the British royal family, allowing them to enjoy a few days away from the media spotlight.
However, what has drawn the most attention was not their trip, but a special gesture shared on their social networks.
George, Charlotte and Louis’ drawings
Kate Middleton published a series of drawings made by her children and herself, showing an artistic side of the family.
The images show different styles and techniques. Many online users began to speculate about the authorship of each drawing.
If we go by the order in which Kate names her children and the order of the photos, we can intuit who did each sketch.
It is believed that Prince George used a fine pen to portray his mother, while Kate opted for a charcoal to draw her eldest son.
For their part, the youngest, Charlotte and Louis, opted for bright colors with crayons.
A detail that did not go unnoticed was that the three children chose their mother as the protagonist of their illustrations, reflecting the affection and admiration they feel for her.
For Kate Middleton, encouraging creativity in her children is a priority. As part of her work with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, she has stressed the importance of developing artistic skills from an early age.
“Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and – most importantly – having lots of fun together!” she expressed in the publication this February 17.
The Princess of Wales has demonstrated on more than one occasion her passion for the visual arts.
In addition to drawing, photography is another of her great hobbies, something she has also passed on to her children.
During World Cancer Day, she shared an image captured by Prince Louis.
For the Princess of Wales, artistic skills are fundamental throughout life, “shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us.”
