Princess Kate debuted a new necklace when she met with the first female Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace. The meeting with Dame Sarah Mullally, the first woman to lead the Church of England in its 1,400-year history, was significant for several reasons.
But we all stared at the necklace. It’s a piece by Daniella Draper called the Gold Keeper’s Heart Trace Chain Necklace, crafted from 9-carat recycled gold and handmade in England. It has a handwritten message, but no one could see what it said.

According to the online description, the necklace symbolizes “love and connection,” and its classic design makes it “a meaningful reminder of your everlasting love.” The price is no joke; it costs over $2,000.
Kate is already familiar with this brand. Last year, she wore another design by Daniella Draper at Wimbledon, a sentimental piece in tribute to her youngest son, Louis. The gemstones were the birthstone of April, the month the little prince was born.

The London-based brand uses sustainable materials and draws inspiration from nature, a clear connection to Kate.
For her meeting with the archbishop, Kate completed her look with a custom textured midi dress by Edeline Lee and a long, brown coat, also custom-made by Catherine Walker.

The shoes were brown, closed-toe heels by Gianvito Rossi. The entire ensemble was understated and fitting for the occasion.
The visit itself marked an important moment in the future royal couple’s relationship with the Church. Although neither of them regularly attends religious services, it has been reported that Kate became more involved with her faith during her recent battle with cancer.
