Kate Middleton in Nuneaton
Upon arriving at the Riversley Park Children’s Center, Catherine was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of children eagerly awaiting the princess’s arrival.
Inside the center, she embraced her nurturing role as she interacted with a group of parents and caregivers, accompanied by their babies and children.
During her visit, the Princess had the opportunity to meet doctors and professionals involved in a new study funded by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
The study aims to support healthcare professionals in promoting the well-being and social and emotional development of children.
Established by the Princess in 2021, the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has generously granted £50,000 (over $63,000) to conduct this study, which will evaluate the use of the Alarm Distress Baby Scale (ADBB) in the UK.
The ADBB serves as a valuable tool for assessing how babies interact with their environment, examining factors such as eye contact, facial expressions, vocalization, and activity levels.
This assessment helps healthcare professionals and families gain a better understanding of how babies express their emotions and provides essential support to parents in building strong bonds with their little ones.

Moreover, the ADBB model has the ability to detect early signs of psychological distress in infants, ensuring timely access to specialized support services.
As a patron of the Royal Foundation’s Early Childhood Centre, Princess Catherine continues to champion innovative projects that strive to create an enriching environment for children during their crucial first years of life.
