In the midst of a complex and emotional year, Princess Kate once again found solace in one of her favorite places: the Lake District, in the north of England.
Accompanied by a group of Scouts and Scoutmaster Dwayne Fields, the princess shared her personal connection to nature, which for her is much more than fresh air and beautiful scenery.
“It’s a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection,” Kate said during the walk near Lake Windermere. For her, being outdoors has been a way to regain balance when life gets too hectic.

The visit, which took place in March, was filmed and released by Kensington Palace on April 14.
The video shows her in a very close plan, walking with youngsters between the ages of 10 and 15, greeting with a “Hello, everyone! How are you all doing? Good?”, bending down to look at a map, and chatting matter-of-factly with children trying to get their Naturalist badge.
What stands out most is his enthusiasm for the Scout movement. “What’s so fantastic about Scouts is it’s the same foundations that have always been there,” Kate commented, highlighting how this organization continues to connect with young people, despite the changes in today’s world.
Dwayne Fields also made clear the importance of experiences like this. For him, contact with nature helps young people discover themselves, take on challenges and strengthen bonds they will remember for a lifetime.
This return to the Lake District was no accident. Kate grew up visiting this area with her family and has vivid memories of those escapades.
Her bond with nature is not new, but in the last year it has taken on a deeper meaning.
During her cancer treatment, Kate found the natural environment a source of calm and strength. This was reflected in the first public image she shared after her diagnosis, where she appeared leaning against a tree in Windsor.
The princess also took advantage of Mother’s Day in early April to share a video with outdoor scenes. What is evident is that connection with nature.
