What is hidden in the statement announcing Kate Middleton’s return to Wimbledon?

Almost a month after her return to public life, Princess Kate Middleton is preparing for another appearance.

For weeks, there was speculation about her attendance at the Wimbledon final, but this Saturday, July 13, her office confirmed that she will be present at the men’s singles final on Sunday, July 14.

Kate’s presence at Wimbledon was expected, as she has attended regularly since her marriage to Prince William and traditionally presents the trophy to the winner in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

In 2024, Kate has made only one public appearance with the royal family as she continues her cancer treatment, largely staying out of the public eye.

“The Princess of Wales, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club will attend the Gentlemen’s Singles Final of The Championships, Wimbledon on Sunday 14 July” , says this brief but so hopeful writing.

What’s behind Kate’s announcement of her return to Wimbledon?

The new announcement of Kate’s return to royal duties hides some details.
After undergoing abdominal surgery in January, Princess Kate revealed in March that post-operative tests detected cancer, so she has been undergoing chemotherapy.

She requested time, space and privacy to complete her treatment, but made her first public appearance since Christmas at King Charles’ birthday parade on June 15.

One detail is that many interpret this new engagement as a sign of significant improvement in the princess’s health.

However, palace aides stressed that this departure does not imply a return to her public life, and no date has yet been set for her full return to official duties.

With this gesture and indirectly, the Palace has given the best news about the health of the wife of William of England, who is in the mood and strength to attend this special event for her.
