In a touching letter addressed to the guests of her fourth carol service, Kate has expressed her gratitude to all those who have gone out of their way for their families and communities this year.
The Princess of Wales has advocated for love, kindness, and empathy. Kate addressed each of the 1,600 guests who will gather at Westminster Abbey on December 6.
In it, the Princess of Wales reflects on those who have supported her and her family in these difficult times.
In her letter, Kate mentions that the Christmas story not only invites us to think of others, but also “reflects our own vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy, as well as just how much we need each other in spite of our differences.”

In her final message, she added:
“It is this love which is the greatest gift we can receive … Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times. We all have something we can offer one another. Gentle words or a receptive ear, an arm around an exhausted shoulder, or silently being by someone’s side.”
The princess also praised the inspirational people who have provided “comfort, counsel, and connection, and above all else they have shown that love unites and strengthens us all.”
Her annual carol service “is a heartfelt celebration of every one of you, and a reminder that at Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each other,” she concluded. “Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other’s light.”
