Kate Middleton has started the year with a lot of energy. Since announcing the remission of her cancer, the Princess of Wales has been more active than ever and has made a drastic decision about her future work in the monarchy.
The Princess of Wales has expressed her desire that, at her next official events, the focus should be on the causes she champions and not so much on her appearance.
She wants less talk about her clothes and for the interest generated by her public appearances to be directed towards the causes she supports with her work.
Kate Middleton’s new job strategy
The wife of Prince William has decided that her communication team at Kensington Palace will stop informing the media about the brands she chooses for her outfits at official events.
A palace source explained the decision: “There is an absolute feeling that it [the public-facing work] is not about what the princess is wearing,” they told The Times.
“She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people, and the causes she is spotlighting. There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
This significant change in her approach is another sign of Kate’s new outlook towards her royal duties following her cancer diagnosis.
Sources close to the royals have commented that the princess is “a different person” since she stepped away from public life in March 2024 to undergo chemotherapy treatment.
According to information from this British newspaper, from now on, her communication team at Kensington Palace will be limited to providing details about the outstanding jewelry or special dresses she wears for important gala or family events, but not for more routine ones.
With this new strategy, Kate seeks to focus her work as princess on what really matters: the causes she supports and the people she helps. This shift in focus reflects a genuine desire to make a difference in the world, beyond the superficial.
