Despite the rain that greeted them at the emblematic Dam Square in Amsterdam, the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe and Queen Letizia, continued their state visit to the Netherlands with a solemn floral offering at the National Monument.

Covered by transparent umbrellas, the Spanish royal couple paid tribute alongside Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, in an act full of protocol and symbolism.

It was 10:20 (local time) when the two royal couples made their appearance at Dam Square for this official ceremony.

At that time, the clouds threatened rain but remained stable.

Placed the four on a rostrum, they listened to the two anthems, the Spanish and Dutch, before Felipe and Willem-Alexander reviewed the troops of the Guard of Honor.

For their part, the two queens, Letizia and Máxima, conversed on the rostrum, awaiting the return of their husbands.

For the occasion, the Queen of Spain wore a green tweed dress by Moisés Nieto.

It is a design with original sleeves, which has combined with a belt and bag by the Spanish designer.

She also wore a Balel headdress and nude-colored slingbacks by Carolina Herrera, the same firm to which belonged the cape she later wore for the floral offering due to the rain and low temperatures.

To add sparkle to her style she wore diamond and emerald earrings from Queen Sofia rounded off her look.

For her part, Queen Máxima chose red with a Natan outfit consisting of a midi skirt and a matching blouse, from which a fabric protruded from the back.

The monarch completed her look with Gianvito Rossi pumps and a Fabienne Delvigne pamelon.

After the review of the troops, Don Felipe and Guillermo Alejandro went to the National Monument, where they laid a wreath.

Letizia and Máxima waited in the tribune, chatting animatedly.

After the wreath laying, the two royal couples returned to the Royal Palace, where a private lunch awaited them.

In the evening, the awaited gala dinner will take place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, which will be attended for the first time by Crown Princess Amalia.
