It seems that Charles and Camilla’s trip to Italy is in jeopardy. Buckingham Palace has just released news that raises doubts about whether we will see the King and Queen strolling around the Vatican.
Originally, everything was planned for April, but it looks like there will be major changes.
The reason? According to the official statement, it is a health-related issue.
What about King Charles and Queen Camilla’s trip to the Vatican?
Apparently, the concern is not about King Charles’s health, as he is still undergoing treatment for cancer, but about Pope Francis, who is not fully recovered, prompting a reconsideration of the visit.
Pope Francis was hospitalized for several weeks due to bronchitis, which later became complicated.
Fortunately, he has been discharged from the hospital after five weeks, but he still requires rest and calm.
As the Pope himself recently shared on X (formerly Twitter):
“Our bodies are weak but, even like this, nothing can prevent us from loving, praying, giving ourselves, being for each other, in faith, shining signs of hope.” Words filled with optimism.
From what is understood, the decision to postpone the visit to the Vatican was a “mutual agreement,” according to Buckingham Palace.
No one wanted to put pressure on the Pope to receive visitors after such a long period in the hospital.
“Their Majesties send the Pope their best wishes for his recovery and look forward to visiting him at the Holy See once he has fully recovered.”
So, while the trip to Italy is still on, it seems the visit with the Pope will have to wait until he is in better health.
