    King Charles goes viral for his gesture to part of New Zealand women’s rugby team

    King Charles received a big hug from the members of the New Zealand women's rugby team.

    King Charles III became the center of attention after a recent event that generated a lot of comments on social media and in the press.

    At 75 years old, the monarch has officially returned to his duties after enjoying a summer vacation that included a stay at Balmoral, the royal family’s traditional retreat in Scotland.

    Upon his arrival in London, Charles III has been involved in several official engagements, including a meeting that quickly went viral on social media, where the king and members of the New Zealand women’s rugby team took center stage.

    During this meeting, held on September 11 at Buckingham Palace, King Charles III showed an endearing gesture that caught everyone’s attention.

    The players of the women’s rugby team, known as the Black Ferns, decided to set aside the traditional reserve that usually exists when dealing with royalty and asked the king for a hug.

    “Yeah, we all wanted a hug. But only if it’s okay with you,” said player Ayesha Leti-I’iga, prompting laughter from those present.

    The monarch, with a smile, accepted the request: “A hug? Why not!” said the king.
