Shortly after the announcement that he would be undergoing surgery, King Charles reappeared.

After the British royal family announced last Wednesday, January 17, that King Charles would be undergoing surgery for a prostate problem, the sovereign reappeared at Sandringham this Friday, January 19.

King Charles’ surgery was announced shortly after it was reported that Kate Middleton had undergone abdominal surgery.

According to the palace statement, the King is suffering from a benign enlargement of the prostate, a common condition among men his age, and will undergo a corrective procedure next week.

“Like thousands of men every year, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate,” the palace statement said. “His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure.”

The 75-year-old monarch was seen in the back seat of a car next to Queen Camilla, with whom he traveled from Aberdeen airport to the Sandringham estate, where they will spend a few days resting.

The royal couple took a Royal Air Force plane from Scotland to RAF Marham and then completed the journey by car.
