It is no secret that King Charles has a strong character, and this was evident in the early weeks of his reign.

In September 2022, during his Accession Council following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, the monarch showed his frustration with a box of pens and an inkwell occupying space on the small desk where he was to sign the Accession Proclamation.

He gestured to the attendants to clear the desk, leading to a quick reorganization of the items.

Days later, Charles had another incident with a leaking fountain pen during a signing ceremony in Northern Ireland.

In a video, the monarch can be seen struggling to sign his name before handing the pen to Queen Camilla, realizing his hands were covered in ink.

As both royals attempted to clean their hands, King Charles told an aide, “I can’t bear this bloody thing! Every stinking time.”

Recently, new videos have surfaced, showing the 75-year-old monarch in situations that reveal his lack of patience.

Videos of King Charles’ bad temper

On July 17, 2024, during the second state opening of Parliament of his reign in London, King Charles attended the ceremony wearing the Imperial State Crown and an elaborate State Robe.

In a video shared on TikTok by Sky News, Charles III and a page can be seen struggling to properly place the robe as he took his seat on the Sovereign’s Throne next to Queen Camilla.

The pages of honor knelt to adjust the ermine and velvet robe. One of them took a section of the robe from the monarch’s hand before stepping away.

King Charles repeatedly gestured with his hand to move the piece, and the page responded by folding the robe over the throne.

Although the movement made it seem like the monarch was annoyed, Charles III appears to say quietly, “Thank you. Thank you.” The pages then moved aside.

In the video, which quickly went viral on social media, users criticized his bad temper. However, this was not the only display of irritation from the father of Prince William and Prince Harry in recent days.

During an official visit to Jersey on July 15, 2024, the king seemed annoyed when he couldn’t help Camilla, who was struggling to put on her coat while they were under heavy rain.
