Less than a year after being crowned King, Charles III faces the greatest challenge of his reign, and it has nothing to do with his form of government, but with his health.
This Monday, 5 February 2024, the world received the news that King Charles has cancer. Buckingham Palace announced the news in a statement published on the social media of the British royal family.

Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, said he was praying for the King’s full recovery.
In a post on Truth Social, he wrote that the King was a wonderful man.
“King Charles has cancer. He is a wonderful man, who I got to know well during my presidency, and we all pray that he has a fast and full recovery!”
For his part, US President Joe Biden said he was concerned about King Charles’ diagnosis and would be calling him later.
Mr Biden told reporters at the Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas: “I’m concerned about him. Just heard about his diagnosis”
He said he hoped to speak soon with the King “god willing”.

Former Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss have sent their best wishes to the King.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wished the King a “full and speedy recovery”.
