Buckingham is in survival mode, and it’s no wonder. King Charles III, still undergoing cancer treatment, has had to take a firm stance against his brother, Andrew.
The new revelations from the Epstein archives have been the final straw for royal patience. There is already talk of a “forced exile” and a complete severance of ties.

The King is fed up, and for the first time, it appears that family protection has taken a back seat to saving the institution.
Andrés’s situation is, to put it mildly, untenable. The British government and Charles III himself are shutting all doors on him.
The Buckingham Palace recently stated: “The King has made clear, both in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern about the allegations that continue to emerge regarding Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.” While the specific claims in question are for Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect. As previously stated, Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain, with the victims of any and all forms of abuse.
The message is clear: if justice calls him, the Palace will not be his shield. Despite his declining health, Charles III’s firm stance aims to ensure Prince William’s path is as clear as possible of external scandals.
It’s a family striving to present a united front, even as cracks appear on the side of the disgraced prince, who appears to have lost all allies within his own household.

My take on all this is that we are at the end of an era of impunity. King Charles knows he can’t afford any weaknesses if he wants the crown to be passed on intact to the next generation.
Sacrificing his brother is a painful but brilliant move to protect the firm’s reputation.
