In a surprising twist, a new biography by royal author Robert Jobson reveals that King Charles allegedly provided Prince Harry with a “substantial sum” of money after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their controversial Netflix documentary.
Jobson’s book, Catherine, The Princess Of Wales: The Biography, claims to delve into the journey of how Kate Middleton became the influential woman she is today, while also shedding light on some of the royal family’s private dynamics.
New Revelations in Controversial Biography
In this book, Jobson suggests that the most lucrative days for Harry and Meghan might be behind them, following the buzz generated by their Netflix docuseries and Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare.
The author writes that Harry had claimed his father told him there was “not enough money to go around” for Meghan, as Charles was already covering expenses for William and Catherine.
This reportedly left Harry feeling outraged, believing that he and Meghan deserved financial support from “Pa” in exchange for their service to the Crown, as reported by the Express.
However, contrary to Harry’s claims, sources close to the royal family revealed that King Charles eventually gave Harry a “substantial sum” and did not cut him off financially.
Jobson’s biography contains several intriguing claims, one of which involves Prince William allegedly seeking assurances that Meghan Markle would not wear any of Princess Diana’s jewelry at her wedding to Harry. This request reportedly stemmed from concerns about Meghan and Harry’s relationship.
Speculation has been rife for years that William wanted Harry to slow down when he started dating former Suits actress Meghan Markle in 2016. In Harry’s memoir, Spare, he recounts the tension with his brother during the lead-up to his wedding.
The new book claims that tensions between the brothers grew even worse before the 2018 wedding.
William supposedly asked their grandmother, the Queen, to ensure that Harry’s bride would not wear any of their late mother’s jewelry, despite his wife Kate wearing Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring.
As serialized in The Mail on Sunday, the book details how royal tensions mounted as Harry and Meghan’s wedding day approached.
Harry shared in Spare about an awkward encounter between Meghan and Kate over lip gloss months before the wedding, with tensions further escalating over the bridesmaid dresses.
