King Charles hole in sock
The embarrassing moment occurred just as they entered the mosque. The king took off his shoes to enter the Muslim temple and exposed the hole in his sock.
Images of the monarch’s feet quickly made the rounds on social media. The king’s wardrobe manager is sure to receive some scolding.
For the visit to Brick Lane, Charles III opted for a classic look of navy blue suit with white stripes and dark blue and black socks.
Charles is known for the particular style of his closet. The British monarch has a long list of garments that have been repaired so that he can continue to wear them.
Jeremy Hackett, co-founder of Hacket, told The Telegraph newspaper “that the aristocracy buy good clothes and then wear them to death whether that is bespoke suits or shoes,” and added “Whilst they may look scruffy, what they are wearing was the best when they were made”.
Charles’ custom was inherited from his father, Prince Philip who wore his wedding shoes on special occasions after more than 70 years of marriage.
