King Charles III was seen in public on Friday, March 28, a day after Buckingham Palace announced the suspension of his official engagements due to side effects from his cancer treatment.
According to a statement issued on March 27, the monarch experienced “temporary side effects” that required a brief stay at the London Clinic for observation.

The King’s schedule for Friday, March 28—which included a visit to Birmingham and meetings with ambassadors—was postponed as a precautionary measure, following medical advice. Buckingham Palace expressed regret for any inconvenience or disappointment caused by this rescheduling.
Despite the treatment’s side effects, the King reportedly returned to Clarence House after his visit to the clinic and continued to work on state affairs, including reviewing documents and making calls.
In February 2024, Charles III announced that he was receiving treatment for an unspecified type of cancer, which has forced him to adjust his schedule and delegate some of his duties.
Buckingham Palace has pledged to keep the public informed about the monarch’s health as his treatment progresses.
