King Charles portrait for 75th birthday
The black and white image was taken by famed photographer Rankin at Clarence House.
It will feature on the magazine cover along with an interview about the King’s Coronation Food Project.
Through this new scheme, Charles aims to address food waste and hunger simultaneously.
The project will be officially launched on his birthday as he visits a food distribution center with Queen Camilla.
Charles follows Prince William, who sold the Big Issue on London’s streets last year and was also pictured on the cover for his 40th birthday in 2022.
William previously appeared on the magazine’s front page prior to his 2011 royal wedding.
In the new interview, Charles expressed his hope to “bridge the gap” between food waste and food poverty.
The Big Issue supports homeless people by providing them opportunities to earn income as vendors.
In addition to the project launch, the King will also host birthday events for charities, the Windrush community, and NHS workers.
The Rankin portrait offers a regal image befitting the new monarch as he celebrates his 75th year.
This new portrait appears after Charles III delivered his first speech at the opening of Parliament, becoming the first king to do so in over 70 years.
It was a significant and long-awaited moment, in which the king wore the Imperial Crown of State and the ermine State Robe in a ceremony full of pomp and pageantry.
