After an emotionally charged weekend of Remembrance Day events, King Charles has returned to his official duties.
Charles, who celebrates his 76th birthday on November 14, ditched the military uniform and decided to dress in his best formal attire to attend the premiere of “Gladiator II,” the new film by Ridley Scott.
The premiere took place at London’s ODEON Luxe Leicester Square and was organized to support the Film and TV Charity, a charity celebrating its 100th anniversary.
This charity, which King Charles has the honor of patronizing, was founded in 1924 with the purpose of serving as both a personal and professional resource for those working in the world of film and television.
Although the King had planned to attend the event accompanied by Queen Camilla, she had to cancel her participation due to an infection.
Buckingham Palace confirmed on November 5 that Queen Camilla was ill, which prevented her from attending several important engagements, including Remembrance Day events with the royal family.

At the premiere of “Gladiator II,” the event was co-hosted by Paramount Pictures and the Film and TV Charity.
Upon arrival at the theater, the King was greeted by several officials and, once inside, had the opportunity to chat with Ridley Scott and some members of the cast, including Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, and Pedro Pascal.
As a welcoming gesture, the sovereign received a bouquet of flowers and a program of the movie before being led to his seat to enjoy the long-awaited sequel to “Gladiator,” which was released in 2000 and won several Oscars, including one for Russell Crowe and a nomination for Joaquin Phoenix for Best Actor.
Without a doubt, the night was full of glamour and a touch of cinematic history that will resonate for a long time to come.
