The relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry has been strained since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Despite Prince Harry’s visit to London for the Invictus Games, the King didn’t meet him, allegedly due to concerns about being recorded.
Prince Harry, 39, returned to the UK for Invictus Games commitments, hoping to see his father.
However, King Charles was too busy for a meeting.
Charles Concerned About Harry Taping Conversations
Royal author Tom Quinn claimed the King joked about searching Harry for recording devices if they met.
Tom said to The Mirror, “When King Charles heard Harry was returning, he joked about having him searched first to see if he was recording their conversation!”
Harry’s spokesperson confirmed the missed meeting due to the King’s busy schedule.
Tom also shared Charles’s worries about potential revelations in a memoir by Meghan Markle.
He explained, “There was relief Harry scrapped a second book, but now Charles fears Meghan’s memoir.”
Charles worries Meghan might time her memoir release with her new business, America Riviera Orchard, and that Harry will contribute significantly.
