King Charles III, visibly moved, made his first public appearance with his wife, Queen Camilla, after the announcement of his cancer diagnosis.

This touching appearance took place at the gates of Clarence House in London, shortly after the harsh prognosis that will temporarily remove him from his royal duties was made public.

The British monarch has been diagnosed with a form of cancer during prostate surgery and has begun treatment to combat the disease.

Although his official schedule will be affected and some of his activities will be cancelled, it has been confirmed from the UK that he will continue to carry out his duties in contact with his advisors, as well as signing relevant documents.

From Buckingham Palace, it has been stressed that the King remains optimistic about his treatment.

Accompanied at all times by Queen Camilla, King Charles greeted the media and onlookers present at the site.

Although he tried to keep his composure, emotion took over the King, and his glassy eyes revealed the difficult situation he is going through.

Dressed soberly and waving from inside his car, King Charles III expressed his gratitude to those present, while concerns about his health and the impact of his diagnosis have stirred public opinion.

The King’s public appearance comes just after it was announced that his son, Prince Harry, has traveled from the United States to be at his side during this difficult time.

King Charles is facing this diagnosis just nine months after his coronation as King, adding to the concerns about the health of his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.

    Statement from Buckingham Palace

The official statement issued by Buckingham Palace revealed the cancer diagnosis and the King’s decision to share it publicly to avoid speculation and provide support to others affected by the disease.

The statement expressed confidence in the medical team and the King’s determination to make a full recovery and continue with his royal duties as soon as possible.

During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a
separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified
    a form of cancer.

His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during
which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business
    and official paperwork as usual.

The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was
made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly
positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as
    soon as possible.

His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the
hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are
    affected by cancer.
