King Charles III is back in London after spending nearly a week at his Norfolk country home, Sandringham Estate.
According to sources close to the British Royal Household, the monarch has returned to the capital to continue medical treatment for the cancer he was diagnosed with last week.
King Charles returns to London to continue his cancer treatment
Charles III landed by helicopter in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, where he was photographed.
He and Queen Camilla were then driven in his official car to his London residence, Clarence House.
The king, dressed in an elegant suit, greeted those present as he walked the short kilometer that separates the two palaces.
The Queen consort wore a black raincoat to protect herself from the rain.
The last public appearance of Charles III took place last Sunday when he attended with Camilla the religious service in the church of St. Mary Magdalene of the Sandringham estate.
Curiously, the monarch informed the parish priest of his cancer diagnosis earlier than his own sons, Princes William and Henry.
Last week, Buckingham Palace issued a statement confirming that the king had been diagnosed with cancer during tests following an operation for a benign prostate enlargement.

No further details were provided about the type of tumor or its severity.
Following medical recommendations, Charles III has postponed all his official acts, although he continues to attend to state affairs and the usual administrative work.
Meanwhile, other members of the royalty such as Queen Camilla or Prince William have intensified their agendas.
The wife of Charles III said she felt “extremely well under the circumstances” and commented that the king had been “very touched” by the expressions of affection received since the announcement of his illness.
A thank you message from His Majesty The King.
