Windsor Castle was the setting for an emotional tribute to King Constantine of Greece, who died on January 10, 2023 at the age of 83.
On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, a memorial service in his honor was held in St. George’s Chapel, attended by numerous members of European royalty.

Queen Camilla hosted the event in the absence of her husband, King Charles, who is receiving treatment for his illness.
Prince William was also unable to attend, having canceled at the last minute for personal reasons.
Among the guests, the presence of the Spanish royal family, very close to the Greek family by blood and affection, stood out.
Queen Sofia, sister of the late monarch, arrived accompanied by her sister Irene.
Also present was King Juan Carlos I, who arrived with his son, King Felipe VI, and his daughter-in-law, Queen Letizia.
Princesses Elena and Cristina completed the Spanish delegation, along with Cristina’s eldest son, Juan Urdangarin.
Constantine’s widow, Queen Anne Marie, headed the delegation of the Greek royal family, made up of her sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren.
Among them were Prince Pavlos and his wife Marie Chantal, Prince Nicholas and his wife Tatiana Blatnik, and Princess Alexia and her husband Carlos Morales.
Other royal families also came to pay their respects to King Constantine, such as that of Jordan, represented by Queen Noor, widow of King Hussein, and that of Bulgaria, represented by Prince Kyril.
The British royal family was also present at the memorial service, with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, their daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, and Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli.
Also present was Penelope Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, a cousin of King Charles and a close friend of King Constantine.
