King Felipe, 55, was able to reunite affectionately with his father at the Tatoi Palace. The moment only lasted a few seconds, but could be seen thanks to the television cameras of a Greek channel that has captured the images.
According to the press, the last time they both made a similar gesture was at the funeral of Infanta Pilar in 2020.
The relationship between father and son was affected by the investigations of the emeritus and the controversies turned the monarchy upside down with Felipe as the current head of state. In 2020 Juan Carlos I finally left the country and headed for Abu Dhabi, in the Arab country he has remained for the last few years and has only returned to Spain on one occasion.
