For several days now, rumors have been growing about an alleged marital crisis between King Felipe and Queen Letizia.
The starting point would have been the entry of Princess Leonor to the Military Academy scheduled for next September. According to experts in Spanish royalty, the queen did not want her daughter to enter military training.
Now, it is known that the king decided to spend a few days away from the consort, which increases the rumors.
Are King Felipe and Queen Letizia going to divorce?
There is nothing concrete yet, but according to the Spanish press, King Felipe, 56, went to Palma de Mallorca. In that tourist region, the monarch took the opportunity to see his mother, Queen Sofia, and enjoy dinner with friends at an Italian restaurant on the island.
The lack of family commitments for Easter Week led to the thinking that the King and Queen would spend a few days of rest with their daughters. The Infanta Sofia is on vacation and Princess Leonor will travel to Spain next Thursday. However, it seems that each one will be on its own.
The last time they were together in public was last March 30 during the commemorative act for the centenary of the inauguration of the Casa del Libro in Madrid. There, the king and queen looked close and cheerful.
This would not be the first major crisis that the couple has had to overcome. Throughout almost 19 years of marriage, they have weathered hard times, but 2013 was the year that tested the strength of the relationship.
In fact, it was even published that they spent the vacations separately. While Felipe was in Palma, Letizia packed her bags to an unknown destination.
With rumors of a marital crisis on the rise, it is striking that the monarch’s most recent rest trips have been without Queen Letizia. All these separate plans continue to give much to talk about.
