Her first activity on the agenda was a meeting with the Association of Italian Hispanists, a significant meeting that marks the beginning of her busy three-day schedule.
Letizia’s arrival generated some expectation, as she had opted for a sober look in black when leaving Spain.
However, upon setting foot on Italian soil, she decided to change the tone and wear an all-white ensemble, reflecting a fresh and elegant air.
She wore a two-piece suit that she combined with a tight scarf around her neck, a chic handbag, and those favorite shoes that are never missing in her closet.
The King and Queen’s first stop was the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, where they had the opportunity to greet the Spanish scholarship holders residing in the city.
They also participated in a meeting with the Association of Italian Hispanists at the Cervantes Institute on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its foundation.
Afterwards, they visited the residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Rome, where they met with members of the Spanish community in Italy.
During his speech, King Felipe highlighted the importance of the commitment of Spaniards abroad, thanking them for their role in strengthening ties between Spain and Italy.
“We thank you for your commitment and dedication, and we ask that Spain, through you, continues to contribute so much to an essential bilateral relationship, far beyond conjunctural interests,” said Felipe enthusiastically.
The King and Queen’s agenda has an intense pace, with a lunch and a state dinner scheduled with the Prime Minister and the President of Italy.
Each of the days is full of joint and separate activities, where Felipe and Letizia will travel to different events, leaving their mark on this beautiful country. Undoubtedly, this trip will be a memorable closing to their official year.
