Upon their arrival in London, Felipe and Letizia went to the Spanish embassy in the British capital and then went to Westminster Hall, the place where the coffin with the remains of the monarch remains, to pay their respects in silence and both dressed in mourning.
For this occasion Queen Letizia of Spain opted for a short-sleeved black dress with flower petals on top. Her hair quite sober in an updo and her makeup very discreet in nude tones. For jewelry she decided to wear small and discreet flower-shaped diamond earrings.
On her arrival at the Spanish embassy she wore a significant brooch of the passing jewels, to go to Westminster Hall she did not wear it because she covered it with the light cloak of her wardrobe. Specifically it is the piece with pearl in gray color that belonged to Queen Victoria Eugenia.
The Spanish royal house is represented by Queen Letizia and King Felipe, but also the emeritus kings Sofia and Juan Carlos I were invited to Her Majesty’s funeral.
Hours later, the King and Queen met with King Charles III and the rest of the leaders invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace. It was known that both Sofía and Juan Carlos attended the event together and arrived through the Grand Entrance of the palace.
