Almost five months after the floods hit the Valencian Community hard, leaving devastation and numerous victims in their wake, King Felipe and Queen Letizia have returned to the region.
Their presence responds to a promise made during their first visit after the catastrophe: not to forget the Valencians and to follow closely the recovery of the area.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia in Valencia
Upon their arrival, the King and Queen were greeted by a large group of citizens who approached them in the hope of greeting them in person.
In a gesture of closeness that has now become customary, both spent time talking with those who were there, shaking hands and taking pictures.
The first item on their agenda took them to the headquarters of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community.
There, the monarch and the consort met with representatives of different business organizations linked to the reconstruction and recovery of the region.
Affected companies and sectors presented the state of the situation and the measures taken to move forward after the catastrophe.
Later, Felipe VI and Letizia held a meeting with various social organizations working in the area. Among them, Caritas, Red Cross, ONCE, the Spanish Volunteer Platform and the European Network for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
Beyond her institutional commitment, Letizia has sought to actively support the Valencian brands affected by the floods through her clothing.
Queen Letizia’s style in Valencia
The Queen is aware of the impact that her image generates, and therefore has decided to give visibility to firms that suffered losses due to the flood.
For this occasion, she opted again for Singularu, a Valencian jewelry firm that has managed to carve a niche for itself in the market despite the difficulties.
She wore U-shaped hoop earrings, made of brass and rhodium plated, with a light and comfortable design. These pieces, valued at 19.99 dollars.
On this visit to Valencia, she opted for a burgundy outfit from the French firm Sézane, accompanied by a Carolina Herrera bag. An elegant choice, but at the same time sober, in keeping with the nature of the event.
